Lucky Helen was surprised by her mum today with this lovely birthday cake, which I designed with the influence of Cath Kidston in mind. The bottom tier is fruit cake and the top is chocolate cake - yum!

Nanny's Birthday Rose Cake
Over the weekend we celebrated my Grandmother's 86th birthday. I thought I would try something a little different and decorate a cake with piped buttercream rather than fondant, and this is the result:

I think a couple of these stacked up would make a lovely, simple wedding cake.
