I have just been to my first ever baby shower (for a little baby girl who will be arriving imminently), and we also welcomed a new baby girl into my extended family, so I thought this was a great excuse to immerse myself in all things pink!
I had brilliant fun making the cookies and am starting to feel more comfortable working with royal icing as a medium; It is so versatile.
I hope you like the pictures.
In the next couple of weeks there are some charity events which I have promised to contribute raffle prizes to, and given the closeness of Easter I think that'll be a great excuse to practice some different cookie designs.

Personalised Decorated Biscuits
I might have mentioned, once or twice
that I love the idea of decorating biscuits.
I have been an avid follower of Sugarbelle's blog and, more recently, Lila Loa. Their work is inspirational and it amazes me what they are able to do with a 'cookie'. Every time I read one of their posts I get all enthusiastic about the idea of giving it a go, but then procrastination usually sets in....but not this weekend. A friend was celebrating her birthday so I decided to have a go at decorating some personalised biscuits for her.
I figured that starting with flowers would be the best bet , as I was hoping they would be fairly forgiving. I really enjoyed icing these and Trudy was very surprised and delighted when I presented them to her. I've got a long way to go before I could even dream of approaching the standard of the two ladies above, but my first few tentative steps haven't been too scary...Yayyyy!

Sweetness & Hearts
So here's what I did with some of those scrummy biscuits I posted about last time. I really had fun doing these and am really please with how the hearts came out. However, I wasn't happy with the finish of the icing itself, so it's back to the drawing board on that front! Despite this disappointment, however, I was more than happy with the taste (of course I had to try them!) and they went down well at a networking meeting I took them along to this week. I shall definitely be trying these again!
